Dance Studio Management

For this project, I analyzed Colorado Ballet as a nonprofit organization and redesigned key elements to align with our class objectives.

Management Positions

Assistant to the Artistic Director

In this role, I supported Star Dance Company’s Artistic Director, Tiffany van der Merwe, by taking detailed rehearsal notes, providing feedback on the process, communicating with choreographers, and maintaining accurate blocking notations for each piece.

Costume Shop Assistant

Through my work-study position, I’ve gained hands-on experience in the Costume Shop at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. My responsibilities have included constructing and altering costumes, taking measurements, recording fitting notes, and assisting fellow students.

Skirts by Josie

In high school, I founded my own business, Skirts by Josie, where I designed and created custom ballet skirts for local dance shops. In addition to fulfilling retail orders, I also produced over 70 skirts for dance recitals, managing everything from design to production.

Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor

In my first semester with Oklahoma City University, I served at the Assistant Wardrobe Supervisor for the Star Dance Company's, Holiday Spectacular. I aided in delegating tasks, communicating with performers, emergency alterations, and checking costume pieces in and out.
